What age is the best to get braces or clear braces?

Teeth can be moved by orthodontic treatment at any age, but some treatments are more effective when treatment is started at an early age.  Jaw development problems are best treated when caught early as they can prevent possible need of removing permanent teeth to create adequate space for proper alignment when patient gets older.   The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an evaluation for children age seven to evaluate for signs of jaw development problems.  Adult patients can very often get the same results as child patient, but in some instances the treatment will take longer.  Don’t let age stop you from getting the smile you want.  Call your Pingree Grove dentist today for a consultation.

What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is the brand name for a new kind of braces that are removable and practically invisible in forms of clear trays.  It is actually a series of clear plastic trays that you wear like a mouthguard. As the treatment progresses, your teeth gradually move to fit the aligner, and then you start wearing the next aligner.  Your dentist will design the aligner trays to suit your treatment needs so that by the time you are finished wearing the last aligner in the series, your teeth will have adjusted to the proper position.  Invisalign is a great treatment option for adult patients concerned about getting traditional metal braces for aesthetic reasons.
