safe tooth removal

Tooth Removal:

There are many reasons why your teeth may need to be removed. Some of the reasons include:

  • Gross tooth decay or infection
  • Broken or fractured tooth that can’t be saved with a crown
  • Severe Periodontitis – Gum disease where surrounding bone support is minimal
  • For orthodontic reasons – crowded teeth or baby teeth may extractions for orthodontic care
  • Removal of permanent 3rd molars – wisdom teeth due to an infection or a cyst

Tooth extraction definitely seems like a dreaded, painful procedure, however we will make every attempt to keep you relaxed and make this procedure as comfortable as possible.

Your Pingree Grove dentist will explain all the options available to you before the procedure so you can start thinking about how to replace the tooth and will have a solid plan ready for you so you are never missing a tooth.

Since we’re always concerned about your oral health care, we may also recommend filling the extraction site with bone or bone substitute (known as bone graft) to build up the surrounding bone ridge and prevent a defect caused by tooth removal. This helps keep the affected area ready for an implant fixture placement in future. Bone grafting has shown to greatly improve appearance of the ridge and increase your chance for successful implant placement or even bridge restoration that can replace missing tooth, replace natural looking appearance and improve function.

After the procedure, you will be given thorough instructions to care for the affected area and will be given necessary prescription for infection control and pain control. You will be able to get in touch with your Pingree Grove dentist via the emergency line in case you have any concern after the procedure and you will also have a follow up appointment to make sure everything healed fully.

My mom says I have to write this because I lost the bet.  Dr. Patel was a good dentist.  He made me feel safe.  He made my teeth better. Thank you Dr. Patel for your work.

Karen O.

I am happy with the service and quality of the dental work.  I had a cavity, and they fixed it.  Service is fast and they have coffee in the office which I appreciated. Thank again!
